Bugg*r !
I dropped my 2610 and smashed the screen. I've just phoned garmin, and they don't repair them anymore.
Suppose I have to buy a new one now.

Does anyone on here not know of any independant company or individual that can repair the 2610, it would be really handy to know as the number of tossers that use the 2610 must be numerous.

Mine will be up for sale soon. Just need to get all the bits together & photograph. Probably in a couple of weeks.

Thanks chas, will try to keep an eye out for that. I am also thinking of upgrading to zumo 660 if it ever comes out..

Think it might be more than just the 2610 model ... I sent my BMW Nav III back for refurb beginning of May due to a touch screen issue, only to get a return phone call from the service dept that they no longer refurb that model.

Telephone support weren't aware of that mind you, as I'd had multiple contacts with them via email and on the phone during the preceding weeks.

So, looks like any of that form factor are now on their own (26xx, 2720, 2820, etc) ... keep them safe (or find alternate sources!).

I had the same answer from Garmin after I wanted to order a part. Bizarrely Banhstorm in Alton have on display a Navigator 3 Plus for ...wait for it over £600.

NavIII replaced

Well, Garmin's solution to my Nav III refurb issue was to kindly inform me that they have no stock now available of that model to offer for refurb, hence they "upgraded" to a BMW Zumo 550.

The unit is brand new (as best I can identify), loaded with latest mapping and came with the complete retail box set, so new wiring, etc.

I'm frankly delighted with the service from Garmin, the phone support initially was a little long winded, but once the RMA was underway their contact was perfect. The Zumo works fine, its a pity that one or two of the Nav III positives are now lost, but replacing a 3 year old Nav system for refurb cost is excellent. Little annoying to re-integrate with my intercom/radio but I'm really nit-picking here on what was a slick operation (which will just re-inforce me as a Garmin-only GPS user---3x and counting).

Ps. Anyone want a NavIII/2620/et al cradle, security screwdriver and 1200GS cable kit (bike, car and home) drop me a IM and make an offer, as its now just cluttering up the place after removal from the bike.
