Looking for a way out
As the delighted owner of a Garmin V, I have just one problem, which I know others share.

It ain't got enough memory. :tears

Its there really no tech out there who can do something cleaver to sort this?
I know I wouldn't know where to begin, but is there no way to download new maps without a PC? or wire in a ram drive (dead cheap now).

I guess Garmin don't fix this because it might steal sales from there more expensive model - or am I a cynic

Speelling, not my strongest skills.
thanks for the link Keith, some interesting stuff.
For upgrading memory is starts:

There are many other Flash NAND memory chips with 64M/128M/256M
capacities which are pin to pin compatible and command compatible.
The only difference between them is the address cycle. For the 32M
versions the data bus pulses 3 times to send A0-A7, A9-A16, A17-A24
For the bigger capacity versions a 4th cycle is needed to send A25-Ax.
The lower capacity NANDs ignore the 4th cycle address so all these
memories could use the same (4 cycle) address sending subroutine.
..and then it got a bit complicated. Maybe I'll stick to 19megs after all.
