Garmin zumo 550 where do you mount it?

Folks thinking of buying a Garmin zumo 550 and wondered where any of you have mounted it on your F800GS'. Ive only got the bog standard (small) screen so it might struggle to go on there. If i put it on the middle of the bars i'll be forever looking down and end up arse ending some other motorist.
Also have you wired it straight to the battery or run it through the plug socket thingy.

The Garmin mount has a weakness in that the terminals can corrode and having the unit permanently wired up to the battery accelerates this. So you should wire it through the CanBUS socket.

I have mine mounted on the left hand handlebar.

+1 mounted on the left hand side with the arm you can move it so its right in front of you

Dead centre works for me but slightly elevated so it clears a tank bag and in vision sits with your console

It was on the left but but find this set much easier and less head movement on big trips !

It was hard wired by the dealership.
