Gear selection problem

Having trouble selecting gears on my 06 GSA.

The gear lever is a little sloppy and doesn't spring back into place so I cannot get the next gear unless I jiggle the lever a bit with my foot if you get what I mean. It is the same up and down and seems to be getting worse by the minute.

I tool the linkage apart and all seems Ok with that so I'm guessing there is something in the box which has gone up the wazoo.

Anyone any idea's what this may be? I need a quick fix because I'm shipping it out to the US next month

I had this on an 1150

It's an easy fix IF it is the same thing

There is a roll pin on the selector shaft which cracks

the motion required to select gears increases each time you use the lever

This is due to the high tensile material cracking and beaking down it will leave you stranded if it breaks altogether when in neutral

IF you can see a fiche of the 1200 box somewhere look for a pin like number 7 here

Thanks Jay but the shift mechanism looks a lot different according to the schematic i found on the website as per your pic.

I think it all happens inside th box which is going to be a nightmare

I strongly suspect that there must be a pin of somesort to engage between part X and Part Y to actuate the rotary drum

There is some adjustment available on the selector rod......could this be an issue??

Take up the slack on selector rod first,I think this is your prob.You will have to sort it soon I thought you were going to spain in April.

Problem solved.......

The linkage has a couple of knuckle and ball type joints and one had seized almost solid. Of course, the one which had seized was the one I couldn't get at in my initial inspection. Took a bit of persuading to get off but after a good clean up and copperslip, all is well now and she slips in and out of gear like a new one.

Worth checking these joints and lubing occasionally although it's not a common problem by all accounts.
