Have an issue on my single spark 1150 when first started bikes reluctant to go into gear, unless you roll it backwards. Until it's warmed up.
Once in gear it selects through the box as normal, unless you go back into neutral.
I've changed the gearbox and bevel box oil, no change and to be honest I've just come to live with it, once warned up gear selection is fine.

This may be perfectly normal assuming you must mean selecting first is difficult?

What I do is pull clutch lever in, pressure on gear lever to push into first. Maintain pressure, slowly realease clutch lever and it should just click into first. Pull clutch lever back in.
It may sound a bit weird but becomes second nature very quickly.

Unless you have had the bike for many years and it's just started doing this? If so could be a clutch slave/fluid issue.

So other wise, they all do that :D

Bikes done it since I got it, as I said it never really bothers me.
I find rolling the bike back a couple of inches moves the transmission enough to get it to engage.
