Gearbox clunk

After 2000 miles the 1200 is v.good apart from the gearbox which is starting to make more noise than my old R100's did in the 80's. The change from 1st to 2nd (and it's beginning to happen from 2nd to 3rd) goes with a real whack more often than not - with enough noise to make pedestrians look around (Broad Street, Oxford, yesterday).
So I'll be seeking the opinion of the chaps at NOG next week. But before I do, it would be useful to know whether "they all do that sir", as I've only ridden one other (the demo bike) which had a great change.

There's often a clunk from the drive train when you re-engage the clutch but it's not *that* loud and it's not when you actually shift the gears. If it's getting progressively louder I would say you have a problem that needs attention.
