Gearbox Oil

Is there an option to using SAF XO oil in the gearbox.It seems expensive and difficult to get hold of.Could castrol syntrax multigrade 75w-90 gear oil dr does it need to be fully synthetic.Will any gear oil do as long as it is API grade GL5.Any info would be helpful.

Hi any fully syn GL5 80w90 shoud do, I have Morris lubricants in mine but I,m sure someone will be along to say Castrol is the only stuff to use ?your choice.

I use BP 80/90 semisynthetic hypoid gear oil in both gear box and final drive. There are plenty of oils out there and you don't have to stick to Castrol.
