Not sure where to post this, if its in the wrong place, which I think it is could someone move it for me please?

Is there a scientist on here who would know how to make a gel pad? I know it is a Polyurethane Elastomer and two components are mixed together to make it (or I might just be speaking crap) but what are those components and more importantly where can I buy small quantities of them?

Dude if you have a numb arse either walk it off, use a sheepskin, cycle pants with the built in gel pad, or a gel pad cyclists saddle.

You really Don't have to go mixing your own batch up - if you really feel the need to DIY something - you can Visit your local university and pop over to the engineering and chemistry labs then ask some of the kids in the place for their help it will cost you a bottle of JACK D :jager (very maximum or a round of drinks in the uni bar) you will be astounded on what the little shits can knock up with bits n bobs.

Just remember not to make the seat too high from the ground. :blast

according to this video

you mix the pink liquid with the clear liquid.
obviously I could have been a chemist/scientist if I'd wanted too - its not that hard is it?

Are you determined to make one rather than buy? there is a company that does bike saddle shapes. (http://www.thepropad.com/pro-pad-polymer-inserts/)

Looks like Raytech might sell you a kit?

Or you could just ask Tony Archer to fit you one. thats what I did and very good it is too

When I had my GSA seat reworked by Viking Vinyl, they cut up a large vinyl covered gel pad from a local saddlers designed to go between a horseriding saddle and a horses back, then used the large gel pad inside as the material for my seat retrimming.

If you have any horseriding places near you that sells riding tack you could buy one?

Thanks for the answers, the gel pad is for another project not motorbike related. I think I'll give Raytech a try and see if the kit will work for me.

And I have never had a problem holding motorbikes up or getting both my feet flat on the ground, being 6' 6" probably helps with that though :D
