Has anybody had anything to do with LICS when it comes to gel seats. They say they are the best, but they are expensive. £147 plus p+p in both directions, this is just for riders seat.

Cheers Mark

:thumb2 +1 for Tony Archer.

I paid £60 for 1200GS front seat, cover off, gel insert, cover on, although I did take it in and collect it myself.

Same here,he even lent me a seat so I could go for a bimble while he did it,took about two hours, superb job, well worth the effort.

how do the gel inserts compare with something like a airhawk? how much longer would you say you good ride with a gel insert compared to a standard seat?

I can't comment on Airhawks as I've never used one.In May last year, for reasons that I shan't bore you with, I rode from Djion to Scunthorpe in a day,600 odd miles.Although I was walking like John Wayne when I got off, the gel insert certainly made life a bit more bearable.Well worth £60.

do the inserts alter the riding position? ie. stop you from being pushed forward to the tank. or is the seats original shape retained?

The answer to both questions is no,the insert is visible as a slight hump ( about 1" high) towards the rear of the seat.I've tried to attach an image but unfortunatley, failed miserably.
Whilst the insert is very helpfull for long periods in the seat, it doesn't completly eliminate a sore a****.for me anyway, despite this, I certainly would recommend having one fitted,I would certainly do it again.
