I've been using this on the bike for a few days now and am well pleased with the performance, originallly I was looking for a radio to use instead of the Ipod but with an SD card installed this is in my opinion a great option for portable entertainment.

As Dab reception is not consistent in this part of the world the ability to switch to FM easily was a consideration and the Genus does this as the main controls are accessed from the front panel. When installed in the Aqua Box even with gloves on its possible to change between the radio types and the mp3 player, or change the 20 pre-set stations or search for other sources.

Looks like a useful piece of kit.

I notice from the company website the unit has a rechargable battery. Does it have the option of standard batteries?

If not, could it be charged from the bike?

The unit does not accept standard batteries but comes supplied with a usb lead for connection to th PC to charge it and transfer files as well as a mains adapter.

I've found a USB in car chager on Ebay which would allow charging from the bike.

Battery life seems to be very good.

I bought the missus a portable DAB Sony walkman last year, what a load of rubbish that is, can't lock onto a signal if you are moving around :nenau seems daft standard radio reception is good, but it was alot of money wasted IMO :(
