Had my 1100GS for nearly 2 weeks now and ive got to say im impressed with it. the power delivery is smooth, not what alot of jap riders say, the suspension is spot on ,Whats all this crap about no feel from the front end?
the riding position is the most comfortable thing ive ever come across.
My only slight niggle is a small amount of surface rust on parts of the rear frame, these will be getting repainted this summer,
Other than that a cock on bike.
If the 1150 and1200 are any better i will be saving up to get one.
Before i forget, took it for MOT the other day, bloke in garage checked brakes on rig, had a quick look round and passed it, no probs, not bad on a ten year old bike! Cheers, see ya all soon

Robbo, we'll need to meet up soon as GS Jock newbs, compare notes etc. I've also had my first off road GS fall, very graceful and absolutely 'no' damage, lol

The m8 dropped his 2005 GSXR1000 off of the side stand on wed, apparently £1000 worth of plastic to be replaced

Hi m8, I might be able to make that but I'll know for sure by tonight. I was meant to be going up to Glencoe with a couple of sports bike m8’s but they will prob call off if the weather turns. PM me the details and I can poss meet you somewhere on the route.

The fall was my own stupid fault, not that I would normally ever dream of blaming myself I spotted a small dirt track going up the side of a hill and decided this would be an easy first off road test for the GS. Everything was going fine until we came to a small dry riverbed that had been filled with rubble and stones. I had a look and decided that it could be crossed and with the GF asking (sensibly) if she should get off I ploughed on and......... the bike dug in to a small gap between some stones, lurched to one side, the GF panicked and I think tried to abandon ship. With all this weight moving to one side I had no chance and down she went, the GF as well.

I was very surprised there was no damage, a couple of scuffs here and there. I'm sure she can apply some makeup or foundation to cover this up though

For a GF to "go down" in those circumstances is damn good and you're a lucky man!!!!!
