Getting new bike friday!

After much thought Im picking up my box new 12GS tomorrow, had an O4 GS before which I loved but new one has all the BM bling! ESA, TRACTION, COMPUTER, TPS, funny thing is only only went in with £8000.00 for a used "basic" one, sure she,ll be great tho!

Wonder how long before I join the "relay" club if all the probs I,ve read about here surface!!!

I collected mine today as well. Almost the same spec as yours but I did not get the ASC. It is a little weird getting used to the new riding position. I am looking out the window admiring it as I type.

Pick mine up Saturday but looking at the weather seems my first ride will be a wet one on new shinny tyres. ABS and ASC may get some use.

I picked up my new 08GS 3 weeks ago with all the trimmings, so far only been able to do 250 miles on it , came from a blade (6 years ownership) so had a week or 2 of 'adjustment' both physically and mentally! But it just keeps getting better and better, can't wait to do a decent trip on it.... happy biking

Well got her friday and this weekend did 650 miles round scotland, fantastic bike! Mill BMW fitted her in today so she's had her 600 mile first service, can let rip full revs now! a couple of things.

1. Saw a bad accident involving a GS in Fort William area , police waved us on and wont let us stop, anybody have any news? looks like bike went off the road and ended up down a steep bank and into a forest?

2 During my 1st service the bike had a software update(BMSK? i think) on asking this was to "cure" pinking and stalling during certain running conditions , does yours need this?(mine cut out 3 times over first 500 miles)

3 How the hell do you clean the chrome exhaust downpipes! autsol seems to do little!

4 LOVE THE BIKE , COULD HAVE RIDDEN ANOTHER FEW HUNDRED MILES YESTERDAY, MAGIC!!!

Pick my 08 GSA up from dealer on friday too. just picked reg number and took free 5 day insurance policy out with motorrad. bloody brilliant. looking forward to it. colin b if you fancy a ride out i'm up for it. i'm situated in croydon........ Just sold mint k5 Gixer 1000 ..... gutted but needed the tokens to put to this brute. Any tips for running in ?

Oh FFS,...............................here we go again.

Now yuv gone an dunnit. Some fekkin will be along in a minute, to tell you to use a hair drier to warm the engine oil up before you start it up, then ride it like a big pufter for the first 600 miles, to let the cotton wool in the big ends, bed in properly.

I dont subscribe to such theory tho! Just ride it like you are intending to. Never done mine any harm. Enjoy yer bikes troops.

Clean the chrome...................! Does it look like a Harley?????

If you ride it harder, the headers will change from browney bronze colour, to a lurvly purple

sweet...... they did that on my gixer. i didn't run that in properly and it was beautiful to ride. however these boxers are a different breed.

Hi, rideout sounds like a great idea, I live in Amersham, south bucks so not too far away. I'm still new to all this forum stuff, whats the protocol for for getting in touch??? Been on holiday the last week, so still only have a miserable 250 miles on the clock!
