Hi,

Has anyone fitted Givi luggage to their 12GSA? Interested in how/what fitting kit for the topbox please?

:mmmm

im seriously thinking about a givi top box at the mo as there is nothing else available

IMHO FWIW, I think there are far better boxes for an ADV than Givis, I think they'll look bloody awful... :nenau

I agree with the baron. You need a metal box for the adv, it's the law

It would have to be Zegas or Hepco and Becker, or why not try Civil, he's doin made to measures, but I wouldn't just buy for the sake of buying, just because, the OE's aren't available. What about Metal Mules, etc...But Givis, i don't believe they're robust enough!, especially on an Adventure bike.. :thumb.
Hepco and becker will deliver within the week, if there in stock, the mounting frame will be the same as the 12GS, as the rear sub frame is exactly the same. :thumb

...well the givis were good enough for the 1150GSA? Ok I must admit:

" I have no intention, ever, of taking my 1200GSA off road" :eek

..my adventure bike is for adventuring on the road, am I the only GSA owner (almost, coming in June) to think this way?

I have the givi boxes and for £150 I can fit them to the GSA, I think, is there anyone who has gone this route before me? :nenau

I had Gobis on my KTM Adventure 950 S.

They are the standard panniers supplied by H & B for KTM.

Very strong and 100% waterproof.

You do lose a little bit of interior space,as the there is a cavity in the side walls designed to hold 3 litres of water.

I've got the Genuine topbox on the 12GSA. It looks good, but I think it's going to look very shabby in no time.. It's just a sheet of (fairly thin walled) Aluminium rivited together with some plastic bits on the corner and a hinge/lock.

Got it as a good deal when I bought the bike, but tempted to flog it on Ebay if I ever get around to making something more substantial. Maybe thinwall SS316.

..eitherway.. Metal boxes are obligiory, but I don't see myself breaking the bank to buy the Beemer ones..

I've got a 52 litre Givi Maxia on mine whilst I'm waiting for my ally luggage to turn up.

It doesn't look *that* bad and it is much more practical than the ally top box. Actually I might install the genuine ally topbox inside my Givi to ensure it doesn't get damaged ;-)

All you need is a universal adapter plate and some nuts and bolts to fit. I've got another plate that has the electrical connector but I didn't want to use it because of the CanBus and the fact that it is only a temporary solution.

Paul.

Thanks Paul,

Can you remember the universal fitting plate number please?

...and any photos of what it looks like and how you fitted the plate?
