GIVI plate for GSA

Is the GIVI plate (part no. E192) all that's needed to fit a E52 Maxia box to a 04 GSA. Just picked up a box on ebay and have read about a metal plate being preferable as its helps support the load.

Do you think I can find the thread now!!!!
