Anyone else have a Givi Tool box fitted on a Givi rack and experienced some pretty serious rubbing?

It's rubbed against tyre so much it's worn a hole through the box!!20221026_154648.jpg20221026_154638.jpg20221026_154652.jpg

It’s too close

Space the box out with washers, away from the tyre

Common with dirt bike exhausts (especially Trials bikes) and we just space them out from the tyre, as we notice if they rub

Or just remove it

That's not good , never seen that before, good job you didn't have any thing sharp inside that may of seriously damaged the tyre.

Ive got the same box on my GS. Just had a look at its been touching too, but very lightly, no where near as severe as Abermarcs. Mine is only fitted when im touring.

Really surprised at that, Givi are normally pretty good.

Ive a 1250 which has a 170 rear tyre. Do some models run different width tyres? What do you have Abermarc?

Is it the toolbox mounted wrongly or the panniers rails themselves not set far enough out on the bike

As far as I can tell I have fitted everything as per the Givi instructions. Definitely no way of padding it out with washers. If anything I need to remove non-existent washers to move it closer to the panniers.

Seems something is not right though. Maybe I'll try contacting Givi to see what their thoughts are.

Tyre is standard size 170/16/16 (from memory? But defo 170/......)

I have the quick release mounts, are yours the same or the ones that stay on the bike.
