I have a Givi V46 topbox in excellent condition. My new bike arrives in about a fortnight. Should I keep the Givi or go for the hardcore Vario. What would you do????????????:confused::confused:

I've got the full Vario luggage set but, to be honest, I wouldn't go for this option again. I leave the top box more or less permanently expanded in any case: apart from appearances there's not much point in not. The expansion mechanism takes up valuable space and once you have had the box covered in mud a few times doesn't run completely smoothly. I can't really be bothered changing from Vario and the looks do match the bike nicely but I would personally stick with Givi or go for a non Vario Aluminium option.

I also have a vario topbox, its ok but my system 6 helmet is a tight fit in it, to the point where it is getting scratched, i also have to remove all my waterproofs to get the helmet in. As E.Buygum says it looks ok on the bike but practically i'd give Givi a try next time.

I swapped my Vario for a GIVI box. I preferred the looks of the Vario, but the GIVI is FAR more practical.

I can get 2 helmets in the Givi. Otherwise it was one helmet in the Vario box, and another lid in a Vario pannier (expanded).

As for using the Vario topbox in "unexpanded" mode.... It make you look like a pizza delivery boy.
