Rahora Wind Farm Open Day
Sat 13th June 3pm-8pm

Rahora Wind Farm in Kilkenny, near New Ross, welcomes anyone interested in seeing a working wind farm to come and walk around and to step inside a turbine. Staff from Eco-power will be on hand to answer questions on wind energy and will also explain the workings of the turbines. Visitors can drive directly to the wind farm and park on-site. The entrance will be signposted at Listerlin which is on the Mullinavat to New Ross road. (R704).

Description: Rahora wind farm is newly commissioned and consists of 5 800kWh Enercon wind turbines which are 80m to tip height. The wind farm is connected by overhead line to Rosbercon ESB sub-station. It is expected to produce over 12 million kilowatt hours (kW/h) of green electricity per annum and will supply approx. 2,500 homes in the Tullogher/Rosbercon/New Ross area.
