Finally got to the GPS shop on Friday to part with the hard earned and made a valuable discovery.

For all of you of a Certain age, and need glasses to see things close up check that you can see the screen before you buy one.

Tried the Garmin V and 111+ just can't see them without my glasses on and I couldn't afford a colour jobbie. So in the end after driving the bloke in the shop nuts I've ended up with a Etrex Vista marvellous little gizmo that I can see whether on the bars or the dash of the car.

So wot else do I need ?

Wicked well pleased. Shit should of posted in "Dim screen on SPIII"

Regards G....

bought a RAM mount for it then?

You got the right glasses on mate?
I had to go from the Vista to a SP3 because I found the e-trex screen too small.

Do you have your etrex display set on Big numbers?

Whatever I rekon the Etrex's better cause it'll not take over your life.

It'll show you where you are and leave the decsion making up to you...

You can also slip it into your pocket for hillwalking, gaffer tape it to your kids bikes to encourage them to go for long rides and do things like run with it cause it's small...

I managed 19.7 mph running down a slope!

Yup mines a Vista too I got it on my Visa

Nar I only found that this morning, its a cool bit of kit in it, wife thinks I've gone bonkers, mobile phone you can't talk to - well you can but it don't answer!

It was the Map display I found easier to read, I'm now obsesed with Average speeds and ETAS bloody marverlous!

One thing I not sure about is the rubber band to destination can you turn it off?

Running down hill I live in Suffolk!!! I'm still looking for the hills.

Anyone tried using the USB cable is it any quicker downloading?

G..
