Going to Lyon France - Need info ASAP

Anyone,

I am headed to Lyon then Valence, France on Business. I believe it's relatively close to the base of the alps. Anyone know if there is motorcycle rental near? I should have a day+ to see some stuff.

When are you going? Pretty cold at the moment for biking just had snow. Yes you are V close to Alps but most of it is not passable. I'm down over the Christmas period about 70 miles from Valence.

I wouldn't think it is suitable for biking there now - maybe a 4wd with snow chains to go up any of the passes to the ski resorts. I think Lyon is about 125 miles from Bourg St Maurice or Albertville, but it would take a brave man to do it on a bike.

Good point about the temps. I suppose I will have to settle for good food and good wine. What a pity.
Only be there for 5 days, so I don't imagine I can do that much damage.

I have returned from Valence. It was anywhere from +3 to -3 C the whole time I was there. Went into the alps. Would love to do it on the bike...but in the summer.
