I spotted this F800 in the Lake District at the weekend.

As far as I can see it was being used to get a roving first-aider to remote parts of the National Park.

The bike looks really well sorted and is probably a great tool in that environment.

It's great to see a 'working' bike - anyone on here?

On the Gauteng N1/N3/N12 ring road and peripheral roads, TETI Traffic (the consortium that operates these freeways as ORT toll roads) use Suzuki DL650 V-Stroms as what they call MMRUs (motorcycle medical response units).

However, a guy manning one of their incident-response pickups recently tried to kill a biker by ramming him sideways into a concrete barrier.
Apparently, his excuse for doing so was that he could see the biker heading towards a known accident zone, and took the initiative by 'helping the biker to slow down' (I sh!t you not - this comes from the statement released by TETI Traffic).

So, yeah... make up your own mind...

Scary stuff, that.

It seems that the good old wild west still retains that just-under-the-surface unpredictability.

Be careful out there!
