Good two day break in France, no motorways.

I have just returned from a good two day break in France, along with 'Nutty', Giles and Keith Bouncer.

It was all on N and D roads, putting a lie to the oft repeated: 'There are no good roads in northern France' theory.

I'll tidy the routes up just a little and post them up here.

PS As a bonus, on our return we bumped into Tricky and Twizzle at the French end of the Chunnel. They had just returned from a heroic journey through the 'Spanish desert'... You should see the pictures, truly awesome.

A big thank you Wapping. Spur of the moment, Caught the train on Friday mid morning, back home 4pm today. The route is cracking. Often a part of france I pass by en route to .. I highly recommend it to others.
Are these roads you know or did you plan from a map ?

Excellent that you enjoyed it.

They were all planned off a decent Michelin map. What I wanted to create was a circular route that I could use to run in a motorcycle over one or two days. When I add in the roughly 140 mile return journey from central London, it's just about it. All I then needed to do was look at a variety of roads and try to avoid too many left, left, right, left turns. Add in a couple of decent towns and the job's done.

It was a cracking weekend routage, or, seeing as I've coined the phrase....."mini break".

The weather stayed fine and dry for us, the roads were an absolute joy to ride on and the coffee stops/overnight digs were spot on.

Ricardo.....very much looking forward to partaking in some more "mini breaks" en France.....
