GoreTex lock out zip

Never ventured into rebreathers. Furthest I ventured was nitrox. Worked in warm warm clear seas and the Channel Islands. Had a couple of trips up to Scapa Flow too many moons ago and enjoyed that (wreck diving for pleasure). Anyway I digress.

Ahem. My Rukka zip is ace :augie

HG Master suit with Lockout zips, I used it in dusty conditions on a long trip. The zips are just not suitable for that usage even with almost daily applications of silicone.

My next suit will hopefully have laminated Gore Tex fabric but conventional zips and storm flaps. I've always thought that an inner and outer zip would be far better than an inner zip + velcro or studs on the storm flap.

My present HG jacket has double zips & is nowhere near as effective as my old HG Master with single zip and press studded storm flap malarkey.

As cool as the lockout closure looks, I just know that king Hamfist of Hamfistia would neglect and break it in no time!

I've just had my Armas suit back from Rukka after repairs. 4 years of near daily use and the fly zip on the trousers went so they replaced that. The lockout zip on the jacket as started to come away from the stitching at the bottom and they replaced that too. No charge as it's under warranty and it's a great repair job, all goretex is resealed so it looks like new.

The zip has never failed, never leaked and I probably run the lube pen down it ever couple of months. Brilliant bit of kit in my view. Most people who don't like it seemed to have never used it.
