Picked up the dak on Tuesday. rode home in pretty shitty conditions on a new back tyre and was well impressed. Does soyund a bit like farting under water though, hasnt got the bark of the 100 gs but seems to go just as well:D

I still think the Dakar is one of the best!... Superb bike :thumb .....

Yep touratech catalouge en route, I am toying with the idea of putting the alloy panniers from the airhead onto this , I know I will need frames but where do they fasten to, seems a lot of plastic bits around the rear end. Anyone got any pics of how the are attached.

yep, Im converted. Very very windy down here in Cornwall so I was a bit worried about how it would be affected. All the others in our club cried off, sports bike riders, so I went over to Plymouth, about 75 miles from here. chose a selection of roads from twisties to d/cabbageways. I was impressed, never moved and I wasnt hanging about. love the single thump again and comming back in some heavy rain it felt very planted, in fact did not feel the need to even slow down, I dont recon the twins would have felt any better. I wasnt too keen on the seat but recon its my bum rather than the seat, now if I could transfer my gut to my bum it would be brilliant.. Why didnt BM stick with the sensible and logical indicators though.Cant wait to go out with the "faster" bikes.:thumb2

glad your having fun on it :D

i had no problems keeping up with my mates er6f in summer, left me for dead on the straights but i caught up easily in the corners, suprising how much grip knobblies have :D

Suprised him as well, he's got a 748 now so i suspect it'll be more difficult to keep up :nenau

Nice bike - I really like that dark windscreen. Mine is clear, I have windscreen envy.

Thanks guys, RC Mad, dont wiorry about the 748, had one behind me on the R100 GS complete with ally panniers, still left him. Choose the road and watch them suffer. Mind you even if he had got past I would have gone ahead at the first petrol station. He had to fill up twice in the day:D

Yep I like tke look of the dark screen, bugger to see through when your prone!
(only joshing)

ere pastyman
