Well, as the title says. After YEARS of Japanese bike ownership (and 1 Austrian) I have bought a 1200gs :D:D:D

See new owners string for details.

What do I need to know, look out for, and do???

It's fairly standard (AFAIK) and only done 7500 miles with full service history... It's a strange beast after all those japs.....

Welcome Miff. Hey, is that a big hole :eek I see in the rear wheel? Wanna keep an eye on that!

Yes, I did see somebody had drilled a huge hole there. I'm more concerned about who's stolen the bliddy FLOOR. I'm sure it shouldn't be THAT far away (you could say it's a "Long way down")....

I don't tend to ride in wet weather. I gave up on that after years of riding all year round. I'm 36 and been riding for nearly 20 years. If I get caught out in rain, then fair enough, but I get cold and wet at work, so I'm buggered if I'm going to do it on my days off too. The bike is a tool for pleasure (FNAAR FNAAR) and I don't enjoy riding in the rain.

Besides, all the sports bike jockeys only come out in the sun, and I LOVE chasing and embarrasing them :D:D:D:D There's many of them round here that have been embarrased by a topbox laden, cordura wearing ZZR600 pilot :JB:JB I hope to carry on this "tradition" with the Biplane (Sorry, GS).

Enjoy it :thumb2

HIDS if riding a lot at night ( I do ) have fitted them to previous bikes ( sprint & tiger 1050) Superb

Must admit i've been tempted to get a set on my bike after reading all the reviews and peeps on here saying how good they are.

I was passing through the lakes over the weekend, and while stopping in ambleside a GSA came through with a set, dipped and spots. Considering it was a bright sunny day the lights on that had me convinced that they really are as good as people say. First time i'd seen a GS of any type fitted with a set.

Now only got to see whats in the piggy bank.
