Lost my mojo for road bikes a while ago and sold most of my stuff but once its in the blood

Anway after a fair bit of research I decided to buy a tenere. Also the thread by "bodge it " got the juices flowing

So, bought a 09 registered, 58 plate in desert colour. Coffee colour to the rest of us.

Its got yam panniers, givi topbox, engine bars, sump guard, custom seat, FSH and loads of high vis tape on it:!!

Travelled to London on Thursday via the train and rode 5 hours home. Seller was great, he also owns another one in the same colour decked out n metal mule stuff.

Set off in rush hour London traffic in pouring rain and my mismatch of clothing wasnt great but was still impressed with the tenere. Great riding position, nice soft suspenion and enough poke for me. Had a bit of wind noise but put that down to my ten year old lid. ( hein gericke stuff and lid sorted this week)

Already got some heated grips, am going to order some ktm handguards and might get a centre stand.

Just to update you I bought some TKC80's for it and a Touratech headlamp protector, Leo Vince exhaust (the standard exhaust weighs a ton) and took it out green laning on Sunday, first bit of serious off roading for it.

It sounds soooo nice. Don't worry I do not hooli around the lanes and do switch it off for dogs and horses. Walkers I just blast past (not really).

It's really good off road, really filled me with confidence. Front forks bottomed out a couple of times over the whoops, maybe some progressive springs next. But generally it was bloody good. My mate has a KTM 640 which might handle a bit better off road and is lighter, but on road its a vibrating pig.

Actually the TKC80 seem to improve the on road handling over the original Michelins. Anyway still love my 1200 GS Adventure and all things considered the Tenere would have to go before the Adventure, but hope it doesn't come to that

Oh just remembered! I'm going to get rid of that bloody hump in the seat. Every big jump or little jump, you get bashed in the arse by the hump when you land.
