I am thinking about buying one of these Garmin StreetPilot 111 jobbies. I am currently using an Ipaq pocket PC with 'Navman 3400' jacket which works very well but is not weather proof. Is the Garmin product suitable for our unpredictable weather & how do current users find its quality?

The current Garmin range, including the SPIII, can be immersed in a bucket of water for half-an-hour and emerge fully functioning. After a hard day's riding, I used to clean my SPIII in the shower!

These are well-made quality bits of kit.

Hops, if you are buying new DO NOT buy an SPIII get a Quest its a little bit cheaper but uses up to date processors etc and will work a lot quicker.

Downside, only one the screen is smaller, but it is a very good screen and when you come up to a junction it zooms in anyway;

Just my tuppence worth...
