GPS Routes Help

Hi I'm having problems with my GPS (Garmin Quest 2). I have been putting routes on fine for 2 weeks but now suddenly nothing will go on properly. I'll put in a route with starting point and destination and it looks ok on the menu and the mapsource on the computer, but when I click on it I end up with my starting point and "please select your destination" which I've already done on the mapsource. I've had no problems like this before and I'm doing it exactly the same as I always do. What could be the problem? I've only got 18 routes on so it can't be that I have too many routes. Thanks.

Just a thought, but are you downloading routes and waypoints?

When you downloaded your routes, did you tick the box to download waypoints at the same time? Ie is it possible that you've created waypoints in Mapsource, but not downloaded them to the unit?

Bugger. Why not stick the file on here - to see if we can replicate the problem.

Delete any "personal" waypoints first though.

Did you create the destination from a Mapsource POI or a personally constructed waypoint?

Here's an example of one of the ones that won't work. But others do work for some reason. Thanks for any help.

In your attachment the route hasn't been made using the waypoints, It starts and finishes at via points.

When I open this route the start point is some distance from leysin - see Whatton's comment and http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73902

Thanks all for your help. I was on the phone to the man from garmin for an hour. He was really very helpful. The both of us couldn't get the bottom of the problem, so he told me to send the unit back. I told him that I was going away on Wednesday with my daughter around Europe so he's sending me a brand new one in the morning. Really pleased I chose garmin, because of the backup that comes with it. Anything technical will go wrong at times, but Im very happy with the outcome.

I hope I'm wrong but this won't solve your problem. As both Whatton and your GPSR have plainly stated, your "destination", a tourism office that is a Garmin POI, is merely a via or mapoint. When you try to open the route on the GPSR it is telling you that you have yet to provide a destination WAYPOINT

Place your selection tool on the point you wish to be your destination and right click, then select New Waypoint. Back in the Mapsource route click the Insert Waypoint and select your new destination waypoint

tried all this this morning with the niceman from garmin,routes dont work even when making them on the quest,also ive made routes before with out waypoints and its worked well for me,thanks for help everyone
