Gamin download

New GPS V upgrade here - WAAS enabled (equivalent) for Europe now available. I haven't had time to upload this yet myself but this should improve accuracy down to just a few feet instead of the present few yards/meters.

guessing

I guess I will any way but the last time I downloaded/upgraded it sent my unit into a spin. It failed to find any satelites resulting in a trip back to the garmin brothers shed.
Another thing to go nuts is the map zoom. After auto-zooming in to help at junctions etc it then zooms back out to see the whole of the country I am travelling in.
Something I have only managed to live with by holding 'zoom in' for seven bleeps after each junction So i will upgrade but wish I had stayed with the perfectly functioning default it came with.
If something isn't broke... as the saying goes.

Bastards......that happened to me. Caused me some right grief.

I think they can stick their updates up their arses till they`ve been tested by some other suckers from now on.

well i just loaded the upgrade and so far no problems but i havent taken it out of the house yet, so we will see if it works properly or not but at least it locks on to the sats.

Finished uploading it and it all works well. Firsttime i turned it on it took ages to aqure sats but seems to be working just dandy now so looks like they got it right this time or did they ?

I uploaded 2.50 yesterday - I can't see any noteable differences to performance or accuracy....so I don't know why I bothered. At least no noticeable negative side effects noted yet .

Helo,

I have uploaded version 2.5 which was ment to increase accuracy in europe bat so far it has only decreased. Now the little d's don't appear an all I can get is a 5 meter accuracy. Can someone please explainn this to me?

Thanks

gadget (sad) man

Will go outside now like a sad techy ba$t@rd and test latest upgrade to see if it works at least as well as the previous one!

What's going on here?
Are the Garmin twins adopting the Microsoft soap powder sellage technique of constantly upgrading with dodgy versions so everyone keeps buying in the hope that "this one really MUST work"

The american way I suppose.. profit over product yet again
