Just wanted to say something very positive about GPS Warehouse. I wanted to order one of the clearance Garmin 2610's they were advertising but credit card security restrictions on small companies stop them posting to a different address from the registered card address. :spitfire This is a problem for me with a registered address in UK and living in France. Anyway these guys found a solution and two days after that a van rolled down the drive here in France with my new GPS. Fantastic service. I have no connection with these guys other than as a newly enchanted customer:clap

It is heartening to read the likes of this, and reassuring.:thumb2

Did you call them on it?

This is the policy of most places, but they usually have a work around..
I've just bought stuff in Illinois, I need it shipped to our office in New York, but I'm paying with my Irish Credit card.
Just had to Fax a copy of the order with a scan of the front and back of the card.
Other placed just want a scan of a recent credit card bill faxed over...

And running a small business that accepts credit cards for transactions I can tell you exactly why they have that policy too...

If we don't follow the guidelines set down by the card company and a transaction turns out to be fraudulant... they simply debit the transaction from our account and give the money back to the card holder. 9/10 as a reseller, it's just not worth it!

Nick, if you want to know the best work around for the problem, talk to your card company and get them to register your French address against your card, you can keep the UK one as the main address and the card company will hold the French one purely for reference.

Problem solved!
