My dayglo Heinz Gerkin Voyager jacket is getting a bit grubby, so I bought some Granger's Extreme X cleaner and some wash in waterproofer yesterday. It looks like it is a direct competitor to the two Nikwax products but only costs £2.50 compared with £5+ for Nikwax.

At that price it had to be worth a go. Has anyone used it?

This is the stuff that I've just used on my gore-tex jacket and trousers. Cleaned up a treat (short lived though as they are now white with road salt) and the wash in proofing stuff has worked well. Rain is now sitting on the surface and running off instead of soaking into the material. You have to tumble dry your garments after washing them to activate the proofing agent. The longer and hotter the better I believe.
