Living north of the border, I don't have any "green lanes" on my doorstep. However I do have access to a trailer and a XR400. I'm thinking about hitching up the trailer to the car and transporting the bike down to Englandshire for a spot of green laning.

However I'm not sure about the legalities involved. For instance does the bike have to be road registered, taxed and insured to go on a green lane?

The bike / vehicle useing any road or byway has to be Taxed Tested Insured
ridden safely Sober etc. etc. Mr Plod can dooooo you, confiscate yer bike etc. The laws on roads are the laws on roads ( Rupps Boats ) Bridalways and footpaths are not generally legal. Some trails are all trafic some are resricted.

There int that at clear as mud

Contact TRF or at least read their pages on the net.

Good luck

Have fun
