Greenlane advice

Hi all
I'm looking for some info on some greenlanes in the Elan valley area.

1. Is it legal to ride the lane around the claerwen reservoir and the continue west and rejoin the B4343 or can you only go as far as the ford at the end?

2. Is the Monks Trod closed to bikes?

Any info is appreciated

Monk's Trod has a permanent TRO for 3 and 4 wheeled vehicles, and a temporary TRO stopping the use of motorcycles on the route at present. And it looks like the route will close to all traffic.

Contact Powys County Council and Ceredigion County Council about your other query, they can give you all the details you need.

Done some more searching and it looks like its a private track that links the claerwen reservoir trail to the road north of the teifi lakes and apparently the farmer doesn't like people using it.

Do the track, to the gate turn around and go back, tis good fun back to the dam, go down to the river towards the farm, cross the river and follow yer nose, some deep water and some shallow, keep left on some of the water holes as there DEEEEPPPPP

Thats what i did last saturday with my dad, minus the lower end of the trail. Was just hoping could make a bit of a loop round to Tregaron and Devils staircase.

I'd excercise some caution doing this trail...... DEEP WATER!
