Why does my mate on a Kwak KLE 500 leave me for dead. I want some grunt. Got K&N, new chain and sprockets. just no grunt
 
Did you get rid of the metalic cup around the spark plug? instant 1bhp increase. K&N filters are crap. get rid of it if you value the engine.( big stink about the particle sizes the do not filter out)

Then compare the sprockets your mate runs. Get a 15 tooth front if you want good grunt and 14 if you want wheelies well into 3rd gear. You will subsequently lose top end.

Then review the way you accelerate. You might just be a wuss riding the GS in the 2000-3000rpm range when you should be in the 3500-5000
 
Tarry will vouch for the speed of a 650 :D:D:D:D

You shouldn't have any trouble, mines a rocket (to the point I sold the 1150GS cause there wasn't enough difference on tight twisty roads).:thumb

Find a better road and you'll leave him for dead with the handling of the 650 :D

Just a thought, are you sure it hasn't got the restrictor kit on that knocks it down to 33 bhp???
 
Don't recall mention of a restrictor when i bought it.... if so where would it be?
