GS 1150 R Adventure late 2001 (Ulez - London)

Hi I am looking at buying a GS 1150 R Adventure (single spark) manufactured late 2001, first registered early 2002, from a friend in Germany

I have emailed BMW concerning a certificate of conformance, and they have been non-responsive.
I have tried to check on the TFL website, but they dont appear to recognise the Number plate (not surprisingly, as it's foreign )

Any suggestions as to how I could progress this or what I need to do
Is anyone else using a similar bike in London

You might not need it for an older bike, but I don't remember the entire procedure.

You can get the bike approved for ULEZ via some testing stations if push comes to shove. Search the forum there is a number of conversations about this.

A customer with a 1997 R1100RT has recently been exempted from london ULEZ charge using the BMW certificate of conformity.....

He was knocked back originally by TFL as it didn't show the NOX emissions.
So he got back to BMW and asked them to add the emission data needed by TFL for exemption (same as supplied on the certificates for the 1150).

BMW obliged ( he said it looked like someone at BMW had just typed an additional line on the paperwork ) , and bingo, his old 1100 is now exempt with no expensive special test required
