GS Adventure - Use a hacksaw to get full Screen Adjustment

I wasn't able to get the screen high enough on the new GS Adventure. Was getting too much buffeting on my lid.

There are black plastic inserts on the screen, and these inserts have plastic lugs in them. These lugs limit the maximum screen adjustment, and would appear to serve no purpose...

...so I cut them off with a junior hack saw and I can now get the screen to a comfy position.

Was quite a laugh taking a hacksaw to a 2 day old GSA...

When I get my bike back from having its incontinence problem fixed (oil leak), will post pix. I take it you two are GSA riders?

Some further clarification. If you have a close look at the windscreen adjuster on the GSA1200, all will become clear. Alternatively, look at P57 of the GSA manual. Look carefully, and you will see a bit of plastic that stops you moving the screen all the way up. Chop this off; et voila - you have full range adjustment...

Are these inserts at the top or bottom holes, or are you talking side ... where the slides are? (this is what I am guessing). Do they really not serve any cushioning/protective purpose? I know that Wunderlich make a fix for the bottom holes that gives on an extra 20mm of lift, but not sure if they would work with the Adv screen which also has top holes?
