GS friendly insurers?

Got a quote from CN for £205, out of curiosity I phoned Footman James and got a quote for £159. Didn't think to try for an online quote for CN. I should add that I'm 42, full and protected NCD and live on the edge of the world, oh and it's a 7 year old 94000mile 1150GS :)

The Job is a good un!!

I have a 2006 R1200GS, 3 years no claims, bike fitted with BMW alarm.....renewal premium from Motorcycle Direct - £342.96! Thought that was a bit steep for a 47 year old, so went on line just now to BMW Motorrad Insurance..................

£108.63!!! and only £250 excess!!

In Norway

When I bought the GS I was aware that The Norwegian BMW Club has an agreement with the company if... They wanted 3300 NOK (275 GBP)

I did say no thanks and called my current company Gjensidige.

They wanted 1619 NOK (135 GBP)

Full coverage, drivers age over 30 years, 75% bonus, garaged, alarm, disc lock, only one driver (me).

Got mine in Jan with BMW £114 fully comp including luggage etc. Much cheaper than a firm I had been with for 10 years!

Living in Devon and being nearer to 60 than 20 probably helps.

Well thanks for the input guys. I've gone with CIA insurance - they managed to get the cheapest SDP+commute fully comp insurance (£465) as well as cheapest Business class 1 quote (£508).

I've gone for these guys. They were a good 200 quid cheaper than anyone else, and nearly half the price of BMW's insurance.

£153.00 fully comp, eight years protected no claim bonus, arranged via BMW insurance.

One of the (few) joys of being in my forties !!!!!
