I am currently looking for a 1150 GS. Some ads. mention "tobinators". Can someone please tell me what they are? Also. many owners seem to have replaced their exhaust systems with Remus cans. What is the major advantage in doing this.
Thanks,

Tobinators are attachments to the windscreen that allegedly let you adjust the screen to remove turbulence, and find the "quiet spot"

Suggest you do a search for the exhaust system as there are so many opinions on the subject, some rate them, others remove them & say the bike runs better!

1150 gs

Tobinators and Remus exhaust...just bought my 1150. Immaculate but cant yet work out tobinators and will probably take of the Remus exhaust as I prefer them quieter! May be selling if you are interested with Y piece and chip if you are interested. Just traded up from Guzzi so prefer the quiet life.

I have fitted a set of Tobinaters on my Adventure and they removed alot of the buffeting around my helmet. I have a flipfront helmet and can happily have it lifted up even at around 75MPH without any problems. Took me about 30mins riding up and down a quiet road stopping every mile or so to adjust it. I for one rate them.

I also have a Remus and Y-piece. Spot on products but I wouldn't spend the extra for the Titanium version with removable baffles though - not worth it. Wouldn't get the chip either, anyone who gets a Remus ain't going to use part throttle!!

I've had my 1150GS for a couple of months after a Fireblade. Fanstastic bike but you quickly find the screen turbulence to be a pain. After reading this site I bought the Tobinators and whilst pricey for a few pieces of aluminium and screws they're a lot cheaper than a new screen and they do work! I still suffer from wind noise above 80, but they're well worth fitting.

Haven't gone down the Remus route - as don't want the noise, but the y-piece apparently adds on mid-range, though I'm not yeat clear if it gives fuelling problems.
