I finally managed to free the seized rebound screw on the rear shock. I reckon it was set too hard however before I start unscrewing it how far can it come out?.. Is there a standard number of turns which is the standard setting?.... can it be unscrewed until the screw falls out or is there a stop?

I want to unscrew it to put some grease on the thread but before messing about can anyone answer the above please?

Thanks :thumb2

Make sure it is definitely doing what it's supposed to as it's quite common for them to shear and just turn without altering the damping.

Thanks for the replies....Are you saying you can only adjust the screw from the 9 oclock to 3 position then?... or can you rotate yours 360 degrees?

I can rotate mine about 3 or 4 full turns before it hits the stop. But no threads are visible for lubricating. I guess if you used some spray lube it might get in there.........

Excellent thats what I need to know...Many thanks :thumb2

I took the adjuster knob off mine to reveal a 10mm hexagonal head, plenty of wire brushing and oily stuff and it now turns on its own:eek: It seems to unwind to the softest setting automatically, is there meant to be resistance when screwing it down to increase gas pressure in the shock body?

I think standard setting is fully turned clockwise and then back off a half turn.
