Mine is the stainless unit but sounds like its lost all its guts.

Anyone know if its possible to do anything with the PD silencer? as in, the availability of a suitable DB killer or cutting it open to pack or re-pack with some silencer wadding... (I have a man that can stainless weld).

I don't want to neuter it, just take hard edge off it.

Its in good nick and cant afford, nor want, to bin it.

Cheers,
John

Most classic bike shops or Harley dealers will have removable baffles which fit in the end of the muffler / pipe and tone things down a bit.

My local Classic bike exhaust guy, Redline Exhausts can do pretty much anything you want , and I would be suprpised if there isnt someone similar in the classic bike circles in your neck of the woods.

Thanks...
In "this neck of the woods" I would be very surprised:D

Just thought someone might know of a ready made db-killer or the like that would do the job.

Cheers,
John

LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES !!!!

Mine on the g/s is quite "Rorty" wouldn't have it any other way :D
The Guzzi pipes are fecking LOUD !!!! again OK by me and the MOT tester :thumb2

The local engineering shop are more than happy to fold, bend and weld bits for me for 'liquide'.
If you search French ebay for 'tube inox' there are a lot of suppliers.

That particular dbkiller is not cheap:eek:

I saw the stainless, but finding someone round here that will do exactly what you want as opposed to what they think is right seems to be hopeless... this is Deliverance Plus round here.
However, I found an expat that will braze some stainless for me and That should be AOK.

Cheers,
John

I like Rorty as well, but this is more like when we used to slip a length of copper pipe on in place of the silencer to get that "cackle" on over-run:D

A recent 8 hour trip got to be a little tiring with that sort of noise... does keep the deer away though:bounce1

Cheers,

Have a look at the little short pipes that come out of the rear of a vw beetle exhaust.
Had a couple of mates who just ran those on the ends of the downpipes on triumphs:thumb2

Your comment about getting a job done as you want rather than as they think made me smile. I used to give the engineers verbal instructions for small jobs with interesting results! Now every job is accompanied by a full engineering drawing which has certainly increased my knowledge of technical french!
