Due to my day job over the years I`m fairly up to date with car and bike suspension. However I`m struggling to find software that I can reprogram my suspension ESA settings.
For example if I want the Hard setting to be 10% softer on compression and 5% less rebound ,or the Soft setting to be 15% more on rebound.
I know this must be possible but I would need access to the manufactures software .
So are there any geeks out there who can point me in the right direction?
Cheers Den

Hi Den!

I know that current GS911s which work on '04-'12 R1200GSs, '05-onward K-series etc. will not work with the LC. I believe this is due to the use of LIN buses which interface with the CANBUS system.
For a good explanation of LINBUS, see this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_Interconnect_Network. LINBUS uses communication protocols which aren't compatible with the older GS911s.

For general diagnostics and adjustment, I believe there may be no option other than to wait for Hexcode to develop an LC-compatible GS911 (I'm told that development of this is already in the pipeline. I haven't done any further research, but take a look at www.Hexcode.co.za for current developments).

As for adjustment of the suspension the way you describe it, I'm not at all sure it's that simple.
I don't know exactly what sort of damper valving arrangement is used on LC suspensions, but I'm pretty sure that orifice size would not be variable over an infinite range. The way the ESA damping adjustment is configured (as three different pre-sets), there would be no reason for an infinite adjustment range between it's hardest and softest setting - it would more likely be a choice of three different orifices, moved between pre-set positions by a small servo-motor.

Maybe a chat to a suspension specialist, with emphasis on re-valving the Sachs struts to your needs, might be a better course of action?
