GS1150 Adventurer queries

Hi I have just bought a 2004 Adventurer with 22000 miles on it and could somebody tell me when taking the Oil filler cap of when running it pumps smoke out through the hole, is this normal or has the rings gone and also there is a light smell of oil when running a long time, could anybody advise

Hey up Anthony, this is the Airhead list, not the oilheads, but I would recon that they would all do this if they were warm

Anthony,

You will find all boxer engines breath heavily, the 1150 cc moving back into the crankcase at once will cause the smoke you are seeing, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Has the engine got plenty of power and is fuel consumption as expected.

Hi thanks for the advice, After having a VFR8OO for 4 yrs the engine really sounds noisy and I thought with the smoke and noise that something was wrong, could you also let me know what sort of mileage you can expect from these engines
