Can any member advise if there are any issues, once I have fitted an Adventure tank to my 05 plate GS1200, with the fuel gauge and the fuel readings I will see on the computer? Do I need to fit an Adventure Fuel pump to compensate etc or will the exisiting gauge etc read as normal in respect of miles left in the tank via the bars shown on the dash and how many miles are left once she goes onto "reserve"? Worried that it might read that there is 40 miles left when in fact there is 140 or similar. Any advice / guidance welcomed!

Hello Bob,

I did the Adv tank conversion back in 2007 on my '05 GS and I used the original pump and fuel sender. What I find is that the fuel gauge stays showing full for anything between 120 and 160 miles, then it drops down to the halfway mark and starts to drop until from about 200-240 miles the fuel warning will come on and it will start the count down to 0. The low fuel warning will then go off and a few miles later it will come on again. It will repeat this until about 260-350 miles when it will come on for the last time and count down to zero. Once it is down to zero there is still about 5 litres left in the tank.
