GSA '08 FD failure ........ Old news I know, and oh great another thread of disaster.

Bob, aren't you always 'repeating the same old stuff' about Triumph customer care and aftersales any time someone mentions the 'T' word.

Yes, but I'm trolling the Triumph forums and making comment, I'm doing it in a BMW forum. There's a big difference.

Have you ever stopped to consider how tedious you have become with your constant regurgitation of the same old stuff time after time after time? By all means, if you actually have some hard evidence please enlighten us, but at the moment all we have is your subjective opinion, with the facts being conspicuous by their absence:augie

apologies Bob dude... Been touring indeed! 2000miles in a week, Spain and France and back. Lovely jobely, Pyrenees etc.

One GS12(04), one 1200R (07) and my 10 year old VFR800.

Oh, and guess which bike broke down last Tuesday, somewhere in the middle of France,50 miles from anywhere?

It was the R actually... FPC was the culprit. French shop near Clermont Ferrand v good and efficient though (once we got there). Missed a day. Piece of cr@p modern BMs are, no change there.... French Gendarmerie (on a million miler 90s RT) dude equally impressive. He was riding his brick like you cannot believe.

Still love them though.

Btw, the ferry to Santander had about 40 bikes. At least 30 of them were GSs. Tells you all you need to know.

And after 300 wristaching miles of pleasure on the VFR, I kept dreaming of riding my mates GS onwards to our overnight stop.

hahaha :D

bad batch my a55. Unless you mean its been a bad batch of bikes since 2004. In the grand scheme of GS history, 6 years is only a batch.

Older bikes have recurring/known issues, but they are not the joke the GS 1200 has become. They make 1980s Ducati look reliable.

Round the world bikes, my a55. More like round the world with 3 vanfulls of parts and mechanics.

PS: Have I mentioned how delighted I am to have sold my 1200? I miss it in my daydreams, but never when I read this depressing section of problems....

Note to myself: I need to get out more..

You definitely need to get out more!!

most of the above...................... BOLLOX

Those of you who "Twitter" may now put forward issues to @BMWMotorrad

I tweeted about the final drive failures to them a couple of weeks ago and they told me to contact a guy at their PR company - since then gone silent.
