The front cover of the GSA brochure shows a bike with a non-standard, meaty bash plate. Does anyone know who makes it?

It is the BMW bash guard. I have it fitted to mine, bought from my local dealer.

Try another dealer who knows what he is doing!

I am at work at the moment so cannot look up the part number ...

+1 Yup its the BMW one, it costs around £180

I got one 2nd hand off here which was unmarked and virtually new for £100

Something that has been playing on my mind for a while is that the bike in the GSA brochure looks nothing like my GSA!,it's all options, luggage ect,but I'm not sure whether it states this in the blurb,if it doesn't could we get free upgrades through dealers?

Any idea if it fits pre '08 models?

Cool. Looks a whole lot more robust than the TT one which I think is not far off the same price !! And it looks like it will fend off a lot of the crap that goes on the crank pulley cover that corrodes so badly too.

Strange that the dealers don't try and sell this stuff to you when you buy the bike; they are missing opportunities. Cluelesss.

Here we,
Engine Guard - 71.60.7.702.951 - £125.11 + VAT, in April 2009

Just rang Vines @ Guildford. According to them:
- the part number above is for the 650GS & the 800GS.
- the correct part number is 71.60.7.713.459 £142.61+VAT = £164.
- fits '08GSA on. But I didn't ask pre '08 bikes, or the regular GS.

At least I hope this info is correct as I've ordered one.

The Touratech guard is £163, but in the pix the BMW one looks a lot more substantial.

That BMW small print on the brochure is bang out of order...

How did you find part number?

Looks good, hope its fits 08 model.

I looked on the bill ! :aidan

However, WIndyChuffer seems to have ntoiced that I have been billed for the 800GS bash plate - so guess I should have looked at Jackie's bill ( she bouoght th eF800 GS guard).... Seems that I got my guard cheap then :augie
