Well I’ve been reading loads of threads as you do here...And I got the bucket and washed my bike, checked for corrosion etc...Nothing to write on here about...then I remembered the thread about the wobbly rear wheel...

I put the bike on the centre stand- well actually it was already on it...I then fired it up and put it in first gear... I went round the back- Straight as a nut...but what came very apparent is the percussion orchestra noise that was coming over the drone pop burble of my Remus system...

The noise was coming out of my gear box ......It sounds like a few spanners and tin cans rattling inside.....am I going to be another victim? I’ve had the bike up spinning before but this time things sound a bit rough to say the least...

Has anyone experienced this........the bike runs great, changes gear perfectly, but the noise does not sound good... is it because it has nothing to ‘pull’- are things different if it is pulling the bike under load. I’m taking it in of course for the dealer to listen to. Your thoughts guys?

Oil level perfect...always checked and changed regularly......

Gearbox/engine/transmission will always sound horrible with bike in gear on the centre stand. If it sounds ok when you are riding the bike then it should not be a problem :thumb2

How many miles you done? Could be the clutch rattling away, and it may need changing.

gear box

cap dont worry in gear on stand at idle, noise will be horrible, backlash in gears and final drive all over the place with no load, npw put wheels on deck and try to go round the ring, properly this time

Put more stickers on it. That should damp out the sounds! :D
