Just wondered what difference it made to your comfort/riding style?

I have arms like a baboon, some would say I have the face & arse of a baboon too, or is that a baboons arse for a face.......anyway, I was thinking of turning the bars to more forward position to give me a bit more reach, and hopefully reduce some of the 'finger' ache experienced too....

Cheers, I want the bars a bit further away though, rather than closer, so I can get my body weight a bit more forward...Apparently the handlebar blocks can be turned around...

Sounds like yours is an 08 bike with the built in bar risers...........I've looked at them and it looks like they could be turned around  You'll find out if you give it a go,don't allow the brake and clutch reservoirs to tip upside down though ;)
I've got the risers in HRH's link on my 06 ADV they work well for me :thumb2

Yes , the bar risers on the '08 GSA can be turned round and I had it done on the 600 mile service . Whilst it only moves the bars a small amount up and forward it made a welcome difference to the riding position . Having the standard seat height adjustering bars set high at the front and low at the rear sits you slightly further back and helps with the riding position as well .:)

Much more comfortable for baboons!

... Try reversing the standard clamp-risers before investing in an after market set.
... They won't move the bars much, but you actually shouldn't need too much adjustment. I did mine within a day of taking delivery and being a long armed Bede, now find them purrrrrfect :D

... Pretty straight forward job. You need a socket for the clamp bolts, a wrench and a mate
... Use the socket and wrench for purpose designed.
... Use your mate to hold the bars upright while you do it to stop the bars flopping onto the tank.

Hit & Miss!!

I had a look at the risers this morning. Looks like the benefit is minimal, probably only 1cm further forward, and a few mm higher. I'll give it a whirl and see how it feels....

Cheers
