i changed the heated grip rubbers on my 2001 GS when they split. i now have a 2003 GSA and the grips are worn through. These are different and appear to be glued on all the way down them. Is it possible to change the rubbers on the GSA or is it a whole new grip and heated element job? All the examples i have seen show the old (ribbed) style grips as per my old 01GS.

thanks, i have seen these and used the advice when i changed the 'ribbed' style grips on my 2001 GS but my 2003 GSA has different grips which dont appear to peel off.........

My 04 GSA came to me with the ribbed style grips and I replaced mine with the same.

You will have to cut off the old ones. Do it slowly and gently to avoid ruining the heater element. Buy two RHS grips as replacements because these will slip over your heater elements easier.

If you use the hairspray method as described my MikeO you will be able to loosen the grip in the future by squirting some water into it and they should slide off.

thanks! I just needed to know that the GSA grips can be replaced in the same way i did my old GS ones. The grips appear to be different but are the same :thumb

I changed my 03 GS grips. Used that same procedure, worked perfectly and should be the same grips as yours.
