Hi All you Tossers,
The tyre fitters have damaged the rim of the GSA after years of no issues.
Could be because they have a new fitter, but that is for me to debate with them.
In the meantime I want to touch up the matt black finish (2018 bike) and wonder if you guys know of a good match for the original factory black and lightly textured finish. Any ideas welcome, thanks.

The spoked GS wheels are one of the hardest wheels to do tyre changes on
BUT, you will be surprised by how well a black permanent marker matches ;)

I agree with the above,
The rim is so thick where the spokes come through with a big chamfer that the “slipper pushes off,
Very easy to damage if not careful.

Halfords satin black touch up pencil is close enough match. The beauty of the Halfords one is, they have a nib nozzle as well as a good fine brush. The nib nozzle can be used to lightly dab on the paint, to give it a textured finish. The trick is to slowly build up the finish.

Just use a black Sharpie :thumby:

I know it won't help you Andy but that is the reason I tend to use my bmw dealer to fit tyres. It costs a bit more but if they damage the rim then they will replace it. It's happened once with a faulty tyre machine and they gave me a new wheel...

I would agree with this, it made a scratch in mine (on my last one) almost invisible, you had to know where the scratch was to find it.

I just had 2 tyres fitted to loose wheels for 30 plus vat from my local BMW dealer.
Really pleased at value for money

Wow, that is good value, similar price to many independents, around half what most Stealers have quoted me.

hairysteve, I recall you saying that when we spoke previously & I realise you are probably right, especially if similar price to independents.

Thanks guys for your suggestions, any more would be welcome.

It is how you approach them, i left them there for a week but to do at their leisure.
