GSA off road

Yes. I've seen this but it is now over 250 miles away from me. :blast It doesn't mean I can't attend though.

I'll have to change my User Location to "Previously Maidstone". I now know why there are Attention to Detail Tests within certain modern recruitment processes. :thumb

Ok ... thought you were local ... :thumb2

Found my 1150 to be good off-road when I was feeling on form - Which means you need to be in charge of the bike

To get to that state requires getting some time in at a pace that suits you.

You'll know you're there when you use the throttle to deal with the mud - 250kg works with you when it's being told where to go and against you when you're going oh shite and trying to slow it down

Yes, I do know exactly what you mean. On the WR if i just happen to be having an off day it's that 'push through on the gas and relax' confidence that is the first thing to go. :thumb2

It looks like I'll be having this for a while to get to my new abode:

The easy part...

Down here...

Then some tricky stuff when wet and dark...

Turn right at the end and go through the woods (no picture this time)...

And across the lawn to the gate...

The view to the rear...

The view to the front...

I think I need a smaller bike because the places you didn't see are quite bumpy. :D

TKCs were fine BTW. :thumb

C'mon Bounce .... Mereworth ... 1st April ... :thumb2

Alrighty ...

Took the GSA to Bagshot today.

I am amazed what this bike will do off road, and all credit to TKC's too. Amazing!

When you think this thing is so blinking heavy, I'm just astonished that the it will take not just the simpler fire roady stuff, but some of the more nadgery stuff too.

I still struggle a bit hooning into a bend, slowing it .. turning it .. but, wow, incredibly capable for a lardy arsed beast.

I'm impressed! Bloody knackered at the end of the day mind :eek

Impressive and great photos. :clap :thumb2

I have a 2010 GSA with Tourances and didn't think my elephant sized panzer would've coped in those conditions and terrain with TKCs.
It is indeed a capable for a lardy arsed beast. ;) :thumb

2nd Photo down, I remember that section.

That was a tricky climb, if you lost momentum it was game over. The airhead slid back down that with the front wheel locked and sideways.

IMO I don't think you'll be having any trouble with your 1200 off-road :bow

Hats off to Giles on his GSA but I'd be riding my Husky TE 450 instead of my GSA - Much more forgiving and a hell of a lot easier to pick up from the putty. :hide

Nice one Giles:clap

In a few years you'll admit you've come to the conclusion, yes it'll 'just' about do it...bit like using a Landrover for the Dakar, then get a real dual sports bike:D

sigh ... yer not still banging on about KTM's are you

Now this is what stirs my loins .... :D

:bow I just wouldn't have the balls. Get out of shape, come off line. That's it! Tree ... wheelchair :eek

I saw him coming back into Parc ferme on his back wheel over a load of ruts .... !!

Offroaded 1150 and 1200 GSA fun but u can't push it . Dr350 is the way forward or mt 350 a bike wid street cred :D mine comes tomorrow

Nice one Giles. Myself and a mate helped you pick it up and get you out of that hole...

Hope your bike stopped smoking shortly afterwards; guess that was some oil burning off.

Cracking day at Bagshot; shite weather and as for the fekkin snow !

I had a hoot on my KTM 250EXCF, and my mate did on his new (my old) G650XC.

:D Ahhhhh It was you !! Thank you!! Jeez I didn't half thump my ribs on some tree roots!! They're still bloody sore! The oil glass was empty for about twenty minutes but it all came back!! :thumb2
