Right, these are showing signs of the ravages of the winter.
Not great at polishing so does anyone know a really good and easy to use cleaner (apart from the missus, she's already refused!!:()

Years ago I used to use DEB Altrans on my R80 Engine block it works really well.
Just remember to dilute at about 50/50 with water or it will turn the ally black.

My boxes are 4 years old having done 4 winters and across 2 Bikes about 65k. They have been pretty badly marked from general road dirt etc etc for some time now and I have never found anything that will bring them back, and my Dealer's bike cleaner Guy endorsed this view. But who wants to walk around in new jeans!!

I bought a metal polishing kit at the Scottish bike show this year. Three different cloth discs, three different polishes and the discs fit onto any standard electric drill chuck. My panniers were pretty well marked but an hour or so later, they were buffed up as good as new. There was no make or company details on the kit but I'm sure they must be pretty widely available.
I now coat the panniers up with ACF50 every couple of months and that seems to do the trick.
